Nicturna Session - Strawberry Full Moon 2019 - Sonya

Sonya had her Nicturna session on the strawberry full moon evening in June this year at Barrier Lake. I have brought many women out to this lake in Kananaskis Country over the last year and it has a certain calm and magic about it. The area is so quiet and often we are totally alone for the shoots, with exception of the odd bird flying around to say hello.

Nicturna sessions are night photoshoot experiences for women shot on the evenings of full moons and dark sky new moons always outdoors and in nature. These shoots were inspired by my mother and are meant to be more than just photos but an amazing experience from booking to image delivery.

Here is how Sonya summed up her session:

If not now, when? - was the question I asked myself when I read of the opening Sofia had on my birthday. I am so grateful I acted on it.

My Nicturna Session was the best gift I have ever given myself. This session was to celebrate me and all that I have worked through to get to who and where I am today. Seeing the first photo was an emotional experience for me because Sofia was able to capture the real me, the me I have evolved into to, that I hadn't taken the time to really see and acknowledge. It truly was an magical experience that I will never forget.

Happiness comes from within. You are worthy and enough. You have a voice, use it wisely and kindly.
