I’ve always been in love with the night // the magic, the stillness and the way darkness turns adults into kids again.

There’s a kind of wonder that only happens when the sun goes down.

Before Nicturna had a name I was convincing couples and anyone who'd say yes to come shoot at night with me. In 2018 I began night sessions for women. They were inspired by my mother, Odette, who said, “What about the girls, Sofi?” She was right.

They didn’t just love the sessions many needed them.

The night held space.

Nicturna is the home for my night art.

It exists for night weddings, moonlit portraiture, dark-sky elopements, firelit ceremonies and brands or properties that deserve to be seen in the magic after dark.

AN ODE TO ODETTE

My Mother

My mother saw beauty in people before they ever recognized it in themselves.

She crossed on the Spring Equinox in 2024 // 3.21 // Now special number to me. 123.

She was the ultimate witchy woman from Mexico. Intuitive, alive, magnetic. You could always find her awake in the middle of the night most likely in the kitchen creating.

Even in hospital rooms she collected people, making them laugh, sharing stories, telling nurses they should follow her daughter’s instagram @nicturna. Proud until the very end.

Now she shows up as owls
the night bird watching over me,
reminding me that magic doesn’t disappear,
it simply transforms.

Nicturna carries her spirit
for those who read signs, track numbers, honor moons,
or simply feel more like themselves after dark.

For those who are beginning again, releasing, becoming.
For anyone who feels called to the night
for any reason at all
this is where we meet.
